Bishkek, June 16, 2021 . / Kabar / . In January-March 2021, the inflow of foreign direct investments to Kyrgyzstan declined by 24.4% compared to the same period in 2020, and amounted to $112.1 million.
The National Statistics Committee of the republic reported that the structure of foreign direct investments compared to the first quarter of last year saw a decrease in the inflow of all components, except for loans received from non-residents, the volume of which increased by 3.3 times.
The main volume of foreign direct investment (about 91%) was directed to the enterprises of geological exploration, mining, manufacturing, wholesale and retail trade, as well as the sphere of financial intermediation and insurance.
At the same time, the volume of investments directed to geological exploration increased by 7.4 times, mining enterprises - by 3.1 times, wholesale and retail trade - by 18.1%, while investments in manufacturing enterprises decreased by 7.7 times and in the sphere of financial intermediation and insurance - by 2.9 times.
The volume of foreign direct investment inflows from countries outside the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) decreased by 28.3% in comparison with January-March 2020.
China (47.4%), Turkey (14.3%), the Netherlands (9.7%) and Great Britain (9.3%) account for the largest share in the total volume of foreign direct investment.
The volume of foreign direct investments from the CIS countries has increased by 13.7%.
For the past period, the largest specific weight in the total volume of foreign direct investment came from enterprises of Jalal-Abad Oblast - about 63%, more than 28% - Bishkek city and over 7% - Chui Oblast.
