Influenza vaccination in Kyrgyzstan is 68% completed

Bishkek, Nov. 11, 2024 . / Kabar / . In Kyrgyzstan, vaccination against influenza is completed by 68%, Head of the Department of Prevention of Infectious, Parasitic Diseases and Epidemiological Surveillance Dinagul Otorbaeva said.

She added that today the epidemiological situation in the country is stable. Compared to last year, there is a slight increase in morbidity, but compared to the previous week of this year is almost at the same level. The growth is only 0.8%. Nevertheless, there are regions where morbidity is more registered than the republican indicators. In the cities of Osh, Bishkek and in Chui Oblast, where the population is closely located, more people are registered sick.

The specialist noted that flu vaccination is actively carried out in all regions of the country.

"Taking into account the annual seasonality of morbidity, the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan planned the purchase of vaccines at the beginning of the year. To date, the vaccine has been purchased and distributed to all regions of the country. Vaccination is provided free of charge to all Family Medicine Centers. To date, it has been carried out by 68%.

The first people to be vaccinated are those who belong to the risk group, namely pregnant women, children who are often sick, people with chronic diseases and people over 65 years old," Otorbaeva concluded.
