Bishkek, May 31, 2018 / Kabar /. Prisoners of the correctional colony No. 16 in the village of Belovodskoye in Chui oblast sewed their mouths, the Institute of the Ombudsman of Kyrgyzstan reported.
The staff of the Ombudsman Office visited the colony and met with the prisoners. They claimed that they had been beaten by the colony's staff and held for a month in a punishment cell.
According to the information of the administration of the colony, on May 26, three prisoners violated the internal order, did not obey the requirements of the administration of the institution. On this fact, a protocol was drawn up and they were placed in the punishment cell.
In protest, the prisoners sewed their mouths and cut their bellies. It is reported that they received the necessary medical care.
After the meeting of the staff of the Ombudsman Institute with the leadership of the colony, the three prisoners were transferred from the punishment cell to the general regime. The prisoners then removed the seams.
