Bishkek, Oct. 10, 2018 / Kabar /. The opening ceremony of the Interaction-2018 joint exercise with contingents of the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Forces took place at the Edelweiss training ground, the press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
The ceremony was attended by the First Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic Kubanychbek Orozmatov, Chief of the Joint Staff of the CSTO Colonel-General Anatoly Sidorov, Deputy Secretary General of the CSTO Peter Tikhonovsky.
Representatives of international organizations, diplomatic missions, as well as military attaches of foreign states accredited to the Kyrgyz Republic were invited as observers.
The purpose of the exercise is to develop forms of joint planning and use of the Collective Rapid Reaction Forces of the CSTO.
The Interaction-2018 joint exercise was organized in accordance with the Plan approved by the CSTO Council of Ministers in 2017 and aimed at working out the use of the CSTO Troops (Collective Forces) to protect collectively the independence, territorial integrity and sovereignty of the CSTO member states.
