Bishkek, Jan. 28, 2021 / Kabar /. A meeting of the Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the OSCE, Ambassador Bakyt Dzhusupov and newly appointed OSCE Secretary General Helga Schmid took place in Vienna on Wednesday.
A wide range of issues of interaction between Kyrgyzstan and the OSCE, including the course of implementation of joint projects, were discussed, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported.
Ambassador Dzhusupov reaffirmed the commitment of the Kyrgyz side to preserve the unique character of the OSCE as an inclusive platform for equal interstate dialogue based on the principle of consensus. He informed about the positive cooperation of both civil society and state bodies of Kyrgyzstan with the OSCE Program Office in Bishkek, emphasized the high potential of the OSCE field mission in Kyrgyzstan. The permanent representative also informed about the past elections and referendum, and the upcoming internal political events in the Kyrgyz Republic.
In turn, the secretary general congratulated Kyrgyzstan on the successful holding of the presidential elections and referendum, expressed support for the activities of the OSCE Program Office, as well as the OSCE Academy in Bishkek, as a unique OSCE project and readiness for close cooperation and further feasible support of Kyrgyzstan.
