Bishkek, Feb. 21, 2022. / Kabar /. The traditional annual charity festival "Kyrgyzstan - the country of skiing and winter recreation - 2022" was held at the ZiL ski base outskirts of Bishkek city on weekend, the press service of the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy reported.
The purpose of the event is to popularize Kyrgyzstan as a country of winter sports, tourism and recreation.
The charity festival was opened by Minister of Culture Azamat Zhamankulov.
In his speech, he noted that a number of changes are taking place in the country in the field of tourism, efforts are being made to attract investors to this area. “There should be international ski resorts in Kyrgyzstan. Both the government and the ministry are working on this. Interest in winter tourism is growing from year to year, and summer tourism has become a habit for the Kyrgyz people, and now winter tourism has also becoming a habit,” he said.
Azamat Zhamankulov also thanked the partners and co-organizers of the charity festival, noting that work will be intensified to promote Kyrgyzstan as a country of winter sports, tourism and recreation.
As part of the charity festival, a dance flash mob, a concert and skiing competitions took place.
The event was organized by the Department of Tourism under the Ministry of Culture, the Secretariat of the Council for Business Development and Investment under the Government of Kyrgyzstan, the American Chamber of Commerce in Kyrgyzstan, the JIA Business Association, the International Business Council, the Union of Hiking Tourism, NGO "Hand in Hand", public charitable foundation " Elim barsynby?” and the ZiL ski base.
All funds raised during the festival will be used to help vulnerable groups of the population.
