International Ethnic Carnival kicks off in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, July 15, 2019. /Kabar/. The Issyk-Kul Gathers Friends International Ethnic Carnival, organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Seitek National Center of Childhood and Youth under the Education Ministry, has started.

The event, which is taking place in international children's and sports complex on the banks of Issyk-Kul, is attended by more than 400 children from Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and all over Kyrgyzstan.

The purpose of the Carnival is to study, revive and preserve the ethno-cultural peculiarities of Kyrgyzstan, CIS countries and far abroad, to establish friendly relations, to develop artistic, musical, vocal and choreographic skills of children.

The Carnival includes competitions, interactive games, master classes on folk arts and crafts, folk and contemporary dance, vocals and komuz playing (Kyrgyz ancient fretless string instrument).

The Sixth International Children's Art Competition Issyk-Kul Gathers Friends will take place within the framework of the Carnival.

Traditionally, the Ethnic Carnival opened in Bishkek with a meeting with Minister of Education and Science Gulmira Kudaiberdiyeva.

A solemn procession and the laying of flowers to the Eternal Flame on Victory Square were organized.
