Tashkent, Feb.5, 2020. /Kabar/. The International Fencing Academy, based on the State University of Physical Culture and Sport and on the Fencing Club, will be opened in Uzbekistan, the press service of the republic’s National Olympic Committee (NOC) reported.
The Academy is expected to train coaches and referees in this sport.
The creation of the Academy was discussed on Tuesday at a meeting with members of the Executive Committee of the International Fencing Federation Erika Aze, Novak Perovic and Vitaly Logvin.
"This is not my first visit to Uzbekistan. I was in Tashkent in 2015, during the Cadets and Junior Fencing World Championships. I can say that at that time this world championship was organized at the highest level and became one of the best. Uzbekistan is a country of great opportunities and we will do our best to develop fencing with you," Novak Perovic said.
