International Forum of Best Municipal Practices kicks off in Bishkek

Bishkek, Apr. 11, 2018. / Kabar /. V International Forum of Best Municipal Practices. has started today at Ala-Archa state residence.

The event is attended by representatives of municipalities and local governments of 150 cities around the world.

The main objective of the Forum is the presentation of successful managerial experience of cities in solving problems of local self-government, as well as the positive positioning of cities at the inter-municipal international level.

The Forum is attended by the first persons of the municipalities of foreign cities who will present the most advanced developments in the framework of their activities in the field of city management. The international forum brought together representatives of municipalities from Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Germany, Finland, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Uzbekistan, the USA, South Korea, Albania, China, Armenia and other countries to exchange positive experiences.

The Forum will hold thematic sections covering a wide range of urban management issues, such as: economy, finance, intergovernmental relations, investment climate, housing and communal services, social policy, ecology, information technology, international activity, regulation of interfaith and interethnic relations, as well as the cultural identity and identity of cities.

It is expected that within the framework of the Forum it is planned to sign agreements on cooperation between the cities of Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Armenia and Germany.

Today during the forum the Bishkek Mayor’s Office will present reports in the field of housing and communal services and public transport on the topic "Electronic billing".

Recall, on July 12, 2017 a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed in Bishkek between the State Agency for Local Government and Interethnic Relations and the Union of Russian Cities, which implies the implementation of mutually beneficial projects for the development of the infrastructure of the cities of the two states.

The 5th International Forum of Best Municipal Practices in Bishkek is the first large-scale project within the framework of the signed memorandum.

The Forum "Best municipal practices" was first held in 2013 in the city of Penza, Russia. The initiator and main organizer of the Forum was the Union of Russian Cities.
