Bishkek, Jan. 12, 2022 . / Kabar / . Now Kyrgyzstanis can get a booster (3rd dose of the vaccine) against coronavirus infection 4 months after the 2nd dose of the vaccine.
The Republican Headquarters for Combating COVID-19 reported that previously this period was 6 months. This decision was made by the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan because of worsening of the epidemiological situation.
"A booster dose of the vaccine was introduced from Dec. 20, 2021. After the New Year holidays there is a deterioration of the epidemiological situation.
In this regard, we urge citizens whose age is over 60 years old, as well as health care, education and social block workers to get a booster dose," said Gulbara Ishenapysova, director of the Center for Immunoprophylaxis of the Kyrgyz Health Ministry.
