Bishkek, Sept. 21, 2021 . / Kabar / . On Sept. 14-20, Minister of Investment of Kyrgyzstan Almambet Shykmamatov paid a working visit to Korea.
The press service of the Investment Ministry reported that meetings were held with chairman of the Committee on Northern Economic Cooperation, deputy minister of Science and ICT, as well as a number of other major South Korean organizations and companies.
During the meetings, Minister Shykmamatov outlined the priority areas of cooperation, noting that Kyrgyzstan has great potential in the hydropower sector.
He emphasized the importance of cooperation in the development of green economy, green energy, information technology and promotion of Smart City projects.
Shykmamatov offered the Korean side to consider a number of proposed investment projects, including within the framework of the new Law of the Kyrgyz Republic on Public Private Partnership.
The South Korean side expressed interest in cooperation with Kyrgyzstan. In addition, the Korean side intends to visit Kyrgyzstan in the near future to study investment projects in detail.
Earlier, at the initiative of the Ministry of Investment of Kyrgyzstan, introductory presentation meetings were held with the management of Korea Telecom in Bishkek.
Korea Telecom occupies 80% of the South Korean market for the provision of telecommunications services.
