Investments will become significant factor in supporting economic growth – Kyrgyz economy minister

Bishkek, Feb. 10, 2022. / Kabar /. Investments will be an essential factor in sustaining economic growth, Minister of Economy and Commerce Daniyar Amangeldiev told journalists within the framework of the Collegium at the Ministry of Economy and Commerce.

He noted that 2022 has been declared in Kyrgyzstan the Year of Protection of Mountain Ecosystems and Climate Resilience. In this regard, an Action Plan will be developed, which includes the implementation of a number of environmental and climate projects, including in agriculture, energy, industry, forestry and ecotourism.

Noting the plans for the development of industrial enterprises, the minister said that KGS 1 billion are provided for the development of the program in the budget.

“Investments will be attracted through public-private partnerships (PPP). In addition, a law on PPP was recently adopted, which aims to de-bureaucratize the processes of attracting investments. He became very clear and transparent. Thanks to this, we managed to attract 3 large PPP projects. Due to this, we will be able to attract investments in the industrial and mining sectors,” he said.
