Bishkek, Jan. 9, 2018. / Kabar /. Investors are not yet ready to invest in the agricultural sector of Kyrgyzstan for several reasons, chairwoman of the Kyrgyz Association of Exporters and Importers Lenara Niyazbekova told today at a press conference at Kabar Agency.
First of all, she said, investors when obtaining permits and other documents often face unscrupulous officials, who demand their "share". In addition, if officials see that the project is profitable and promising, they try to take it away.
She also said that many farmers today have the wrong concept in growing crops. Due to excessive or inadequate watering, as well as improper use of chemicals, they cannot receive a quality and good harvest. Niyazbekova stressed that in addition, there is no control over the spread of fertilizers in the country, and each farmer uses occasionally the fertilizer that he can afford, thus depleting the soil of the crop area.
In view of the fact that Kyrgyz farmers can not consistently provide a large crop, investors are slow to invest in the agricultural sector of Kyrgyzstan and assume such risks, the expert explained.
