Iran national futsal team becomes champion of Central Asia

Bishkek, July 31, 2023. /Kabar/. The Iranian national futsal team became the champion of the first tournament in Central Asia - CAFA Futsal Cup-2023.

The Iranian team scored four victories in five meetings and, having scored a total of 12 points, topped the standings of the competition. In second place is the Afghanistan team with 10 points. The third place with 9 points was taken by the Uzbek team.

The national team of Tajikistan summed up participation in the tournament, taking the fourth place, the team of Turkmenistan - on the fifth. Kyrgyzstan finished last in the tournament, losing all five matches.

CAFA Futsal Cup-2023 was held from July 23 to 30 at the multifunctional sports complex in Dushanbe. Six teams from Afghanistan, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan participated in the first ever tournament among the national futsal teams of Central Asian countries.

A total of 15 matches were played in the tournament.
