As a result of the negotiations, an agreement was reached with the People's Republic of China to resume the operation of the Irkeshtam checkpoint at the Kyrgyz-Chinese state border exclusively for freight traffic of the two countries, the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Kyrgyzstan said.
"The issue of Torugart checkpoint work will be considered by the sides, taking into account the further development of the epidemiological situation in the region.
At the same time, restrictions for citizens of the two countries to pass the border remain," the message says.
