Bishkek, Feb. 22, 2022 . / Kabar / . In Kyrgyzstan, it is proposed to issue loans for 10 years for kidney transplantation operations, deputy Dastan Bekeshev said during a briefing in Bishkek on Tuesday.
He noted that during a recent consideration of the Mandatory Health Insurance Fund (MHIF) budget it became known that 7% of KGS 20 billion, that is, KGS 1 billion 421 million 280 thousand are used to support hemodialysis procedures for 1,922 people.
"The amount allocated is small, it is not enough. Back in 2016, when the dollar exchange rate was different, it was decided that private clinics would provide this service for KGS 4 thousand 700, but there are organizations where hemodialysis costs more – KGS 6 thousand 800," MP Bekeshev said.
In addition, the deputy proposed to perform kidney transplantation because it is impossible to deny hemodialysis to persons with renal insufficiency. Meanwhile, the high rate of growth of the disease entails a huge burden on the budget.
"It's also social benefits, insulin support because of diabetes and so on. We have a lot of diseases that are not covered by the MHIF. Just this year we have budgeted for those with hemophilia, hepatitis and so on," the MP added.
According to Bekeshev, social medical lending was proposed in this regard.
"It is impossible for our budget to make the procedure free. That's why it was proposed to give loans for 10 years, so that people could repay it with their relatives. On average it would cost about $20 thousand dollars for a single surgery, but health minister called the amount $7-8 thousand. I think the amount is unrealistic given the dollar exchange rate and its possible growth. In this regard, we have provided KGS 500 million for 300 operations for persons with renal insufficiency,” the deputy concluded.
