Bishkek, March 26, 2022 . / Kabar /. Issues of cooperation with the U.S. FBI in Central Asia were discussed at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan.
The ministry reported that Head of the International Cooperation Department of the Kyrgyz Internal Ministry Nurbek Zhangabylov met Regional Security Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Kyrgyzstan Erik Olerud, Head of the International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Cooperation Program Charles Hardaway and representative of the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Central Asia Blake Wirth.
The sides discussed a number of issues - further strengthening of cooperation, interaction in the field of law enforcement, and a draft Memorandum of Understanding between the U.S. FBI and the Kyrgyz Interior Ministry.
"The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation has enormous potential and experience in the fight against crime, it will be very useful for us to study your practical skills and knowledge. In addition, I would like to note the positive dynamics of mutually beneficial cooperation between the Interior Ministry of the Kyrgyz Republic and the U.S. Embassy in Kyrgyzstan,” Nurbek Zhangabylov said.
In conclusion, the sides expressed readiness for open interaction and development of bilateral cooperation.
