Tashkent, Nov. 27, 2020. /Kabar/. One of the main tasks in the activities of the Center for Public Diplomacy of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Uzbekistan is to promote cooperation between SCO countries in the information sphere, Head of the SCO Public Diplomacy Center in Uzbekistan Kabuljon Sabirov said on Friday during a round table dedicated to the celebration of the International Information Day.
According to him, nowadays formation of information resources and interaction with mass media in the SCO region becomes more important.
"Today's event serves to significantly develop and strengthen fruitful and effective interaction between the Center and representatives of the media to develop multilateral cultural and humanitarian cooperation within the SCO,” stressed Sabirov.
The participants exchanged views and experiences on coverage of events through information channels in the SCO region, especially in the areas of public diplomacy and culture, education, art, tourism, sports, medicine and other areas.
SCO Center for Public Diplomacy was opened in Tashkent in January 2019, in accordance with the initiative of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the SCO summit in Astana in June 2017.
