Tashkent, Feb. 6, 2024. /Kabar/. In Tashkent, representatives of the energy and water departments of Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan discussed issues of water and energy cooperation, the press service of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan told Kabar Agency.
During the meeting, proposals for the development of the energy system of Central Asian countries were considered. The main attention was paid to the issues of high load on energy systems in the autumn-winter period, the construction of new hydroelectric power plants and the development of energy systems in Central Asian countries.
Decisions have been made regarding mechanisms for mutual assistance in emergency situations and the formation of backup sources.
The parties also discussed the fulfillment of mutual obligations for the supply of water resources and electricity over the past year.
At the next meeting, the parties will discuss the topic of construction of hydroelectric power stations, in particular, the construction of the Kambarata hydroelectric power station on the territory of Kyrgyzstan.
