The 3rd International Issyk-Kul Forum “Chyngyz Aitmatov and the Challenges of Modernity” will provide an opportunity for outstanding intellectuals from around the world to discuss the global problems of our time, which require immediate intervention, this was said on friday at the official opening of the platform at Ala-Archa state residence.

President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov, in his welcoming speech, noted that the location of the meeting of venerable figures with international recognition on the coast of the Kyrgyz pearl of Issyk-Kul Lake has a special historical significance.

“Because Central Asia is a sacred region, where different civilizations and cultures are closely intertwined. These places has been inhabited by various peoples who speak different languages ​​and preach different religions for a long time. The great spirit of the nomads firmly settled in the mentality of the peoples of Central Asia. We have cultural, linguistic, ethno-confessional and historical ties. We are united not only by geography and a common past, but also by a common future,” the President pointed out in his speech.

He stressed that the socio-political processes in the region are in constant dynamics, and in many cases global trends have arisen in Central Asia, which has made these regions a territory of learning new stages in the history of mankind.

“Continuing the ancient tradition of Central Asia, the first Issyk-Kul forum, one might say, raised the knowledge of history and modern processes to a new level. I am deeply convinced that today this great potential of our beautiful land is being revived, which contributed 32 years ago to the emergence of a new planetary thinking,” the President emphasized.
