Issyk-Kul hosts international conference on PPP development

Bishkek, Aug. 23, 2018 / Kabar /. The Kyrgyz Republic created a legislative and institutional environment for the development of public-private partnership (PPP) projects. This became known at an international practical conference organized by the Training Center of the Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic on Aug. 22, 2018 in the village of Kara-Oi in Issyk-Kul oblast.

Participants of the conference were told about the experience of the Kyrgyz Republic in developing public-private partnership, managing fiscal risks on PPP projects, and also about US experience in PPP projects.

The experts of the conference said that all favorable conditions for PPP development have been created in the Kyrgyz Republic. To date, 2 PPP projects have been successfully implemented in the country.

It should be noted that the international practical conference "Public-private partnership projects: search, initiation, implementation, monitoring" is held for the first time with the participation of international experts and timed to the 40th anniversary of the Training Center of the Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The purpose of the conference is to create an open discussion platform for the exchange of experience in the search for, initiation, implementation and monitoring of projects on the basis of public-private partnership.

The work of the conference will last until Aug. 25, 2018.

The conference brought together Deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Iskhak Masaliev, Advisor to the Prime Minister Bolot Djunusov, Minister of Finance Adylbek Kasymaliev, Deputy Minister of Economy Eldar Abakirov, Adviser to the General Office of the US Department of Commerce Michael Cofield, Director of the Public-Private Partnership Office of the Virginia Department of Transportation (USA) Morteza Farajyan, Senior Legal Adviser in Public Contracts (USA) E. Sanderson Ho, representatives of the business community and partners.
