Cholpon-Ata, May 11, 2019. / Kabar /. The International Issyk-Kul Marathon of the SCO “Run the Silk Road” has started in Cholpon-Ata.
The race at a distance of 42 km, 21 km, 10 km and 3 km started at the racetrack in Cholpon-Ata. The total number of registered participants of the SCO marathon is 3 thousand people from 27 countries of the world.
At the opening ceremony, First Deputy Chief of the President’s Office, Almaz Kenenbaev, addressed the participants of the marathon on behalf of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic. Also, Minister of Health Kosmosbek Cholponbayev and Deputy Secretary General of the SCO Aizada Subakozhoeva made key note speeches.
The total prize fund of the SCO Marathon is 2 million 790 thousand soms.
The event is held with the aim of promoting health tourism and promoting a healthy lifestyle.
