Bishkek, Nov. 15, 2018. /Kabar/. Akylbek Osmonaliev, governor of Issyk-Kul oblast received Mayor of Geumsan district in Chungcheong province, South Korea Moon Jong-vu.
During the bilateral meeting, an agreement on mutual cooperation between the two regions in the field of tourism, agriculture and industry was signed.
Osmonaliev noted that the South Korean Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic provides good support to farmers in Issyk-Kul oblast.
“Currently, farmers in Ak-Suu, Tyupy and Jeti-Oguz regions cooperate with entrepreneurs of South Korea, for example, in Ak-Suu region, farmers are selling a special sort of potato to a starch production company that was built with support of the South Korean side. Initiatives of this kind have a positive effect on bilateral cooperation, and, in my opinion, will be intensified every year,” said Osmonaliev.
In turn, Geumsan Mayor stressed that he is in Issyk-Kul oblast for the first time and cannot hide his impressions of nature and fresh air. He also invited the governor to visit Korea with an official delegation to participate in the economic forum in next autumn.
