Bishkek, Dec. 7, 2020. /Kabar/. As part of the 16-day campaign against violence against women and children, the Issyk-Kul Department of Internal Affairs is conducting a training workshop for staff of youth liaison officer, educators, local government, and the public.
According to the press service of the regional police, this event was organized by the Ministry of Internal Affairs in cooperation with the Center for Research on Democratic Processes (CRDP) public foundation and timed to Nov. 25 - International Day for the Elimination of All Forms of Violence against Women.
On this day the global campaign "Life without Violence" started in the country, which will end on Dec. 10 - Human Rights Day.
As part of the government's plan, joint activities of the Kyrgyz Internal Ministry, CRDP and UN-funded "A Multi-Sectoral Response to End Gender-Based Violence Against Women and Girls" project, the training participants study issues to improve understanding of sexual violence, types of sexual abuse against children, and the most common misconceptions and stereotypes related to sexual violence.
At the end of the event, the participants agreed that such a training workshop will contribute to decision-making on improving measures to combat crimes related to violations of sexual freedom and sexual integrity of minors, the normal moral and psychological development of the young generation.
