Italy interested in importing products and attracting labor from Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Oct. 12, 2022. /Kabar/. A delegation of representatives of Italian business circles visited Kyrgyzstan from October 4 to 6, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

The delegation included representatives of the Barbagia Agricultural District Foundation from the Sardinia region, Italian renewable energy companies AT Ambiente and Sviluppo Ambiente from the Lombardy region, as well as Italian tourism and hospitality businesses.

Kyrgyz entrepreneurs of the agricultural sector discussed with the Italian side the issues of exporting products to Italy in the form of supplies of dried fruits, nuts and honey to the Sardinia region.

An agreement was signed between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Barbagia Agricultural District Foundation to cooperate in the export of agricultural products, to implement a project to train specialists from the Kyrgyz Republic in the production of goat milk cheese, to attract skilled labor from the Kyrgyz Republic to the Sardinia region, and to interact in the field of tourism, the report said.

In addition, the delegation discussed with the leadership of the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic the prospects for the implementation of investment projects in the field of renewable energy sources. The energy potential of the Kyrgyz Republic was demonstrated to Italian companies, and the preferences provided to foreign investors were explained in detail. The Italian side expressed its readiness to send its proposals for the implementation of energy projects in the Kyrgyz Republic for their further consideration by the Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan.

The Italian entrepreneurs were presented with the investment potential of priority sectors of the economy of the Kyrgyz Republic, including tourism, clothing and textiles. The importance of attracting Italian advanced technologies, innovations and experience to the Kyrgyz Republic was noted.
