Bishkek, June 27, 2024. /Kabar/. An agreement was signed between the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic and TOYOTA Tsusho Corporation as part of the grant project “Improvement of equipment for road maintenance and pavement in Batken region”. The signing took place in Tokyo, Japan.
The Kyrgyz delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications Yrysbek Bariev.
The project, funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) on a non-refundable basis, is aimed at ensuring road safety, improving transport logistics and strengthening the capacity to carry out restoration and rehabilitation work using road construction equipment to maintain highways and road surfaces in the Batken region, and also highways of international importance.
As part of the project, 48 units of modern road construction equipment will be purchased, including stone crushing equipment and an asphalt concrete plant.
Yrysbek Bariev met with the leadership of JICA. During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of expanding cooperation between the Ministry of Transport and Communications and JICA.
