Bishkek, Aug. 11, 2021 . / Kabar / . The Government of Japan has decided to implement the grant aid project “The Project for Human Resources Development Scholarship (JDS)” for fiscal year 2021 to Kyrgyzstan with a maximum grant amount of JPY 301 million, the Embassy of Japan in Kyrgyzstan said.
On July 29, Exchange of Notes were signed between Ambassador of Japan to Kyrgyzstan Shigeki Maeda and Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan – Minister of Economy and Finance Akylbek Zhaparov.
In addition, a Grant Agreement was signed between Akylbek Zhaparov and Chief Representative of JICA Kyrgyz Republic Office Naoyuki Nemoto.
JDS is a grant aid programme that started in 2006, and so far 227 young government officials have obtained postgraduate degrees in Japan.
The majority of past fellows have been actively working for the governmental organizations after returning to Kyrgyzstan. The programme have produced high-level human resources, including cabinet-level officials.
Through the JDS project, fellows are expected to utilize the expertise and knowledge they gained in Japan to solve economic and social problems, and contribute to the development of Kyrgyzstan.
