Baku, Oct. 15, 2019. / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov met today with President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the sidelines of the Summit of the Heads of Turkic Speaking States (Turkic Council) in the city of Baku (Azerbaijan).
The two leader discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Turkey.
Jeenbekov emphasized that Turkey is a fraternal and friendly country for Kyrgyzstan.
He noted with satisfaction that after the official visit of Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Kyrgyzstan in 2018, the interaction of countries and dialogue between state structures have been intensified at various levels.
The Turkish president congratulated Sooronbay Jeenbekov on the successful chairmanship of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Turkic Council.
The sides once again noted their readiness to intensify bilateral cooperation in priority areas of the joint agenda, to strengthen work in accordance with previously reached agreements on bringing mutual trade turnover up to 1 billion US dollars between Kyrgyzstan and Turkey.
They also emphasized the importance of holding a regular meeting of the Supreme Council for Strategic Cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Turkey, a regular meeting of the intergovernmental commission, and outlined plans for priority areas for the near future.
