Bishkek, May 31, 2019. / Kabar /. Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov in the framework of his working visit to the Republic of India, met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 30.
The head of state arrived in India to attend the inauguration ceremony of Narendra Modi at his invitation.
Jeenbekov congratulated Modi on the victory of the Bharatiya Janata Party in the parliamentary elections and on the re-election of Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister of India, the Kyrgyz President’s press service said.
“The election results confirm the high confidence of the people of India in you, the reforms and important undertakings you are conducting. I am confident that friendly relations and trustful cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and India will only strengthen,” said Jeenbekov.
He stressed that Kyrgyzstan is waiting for Narendra Modi for an official visit, which will take place in the near future, and expressed confidence that the visit would be held at a high level, fruitfully and successfully.
Modi expressed his gratitude for the congratulation, stressing that Kyrgyzstan and India are friendly countries with long-term and diverse cooperation. He noted that the Indian side is firmly committed to the further development of comprehensive relations with Kyrgyzstan.
Jeenbekov and Modi discussed issues on a wide range of bilateral cooperation, as well as in the framework of international organizations.
