Jeenbekov and newly appointed FM discuss priority areas of foreign policy of Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Oct. 22, 2018. / Kabar /. Kyrgyz President Sooronbai Jeenbekov received today recently appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs of the country Chyngyz Aidarbekov.

The president and foreign minister exchanged views on the implementation of key areas of foreign policy of Kyrgyzstan, complex foreign policy issues, the Kyrgyz President’s press service reported.

President Jeenbekov assigned to implement the previously reached agreements during his official and state visits to foreign countries, to develop and strengthen good-neighborly relations with partner countries.

“Conducting of the country's foreign policy should be consistent, deeply thought out and balanced, with a priority consideration of the interests of the Kyrgyz Republic,” said Jeenbekov.

He also set a task to strengthen work on attracting investments, developing the country's tourism potential, and protecting the rights and interests of citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic abroad.

Aidarbekov noted that thorough work will be carried with every agreement reached during the visits of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic with a view to their implementation and promotion.

Regarding critics that have recently been voiced in the media regarding the activities of the foreign affairs agency, Aidarbekov informed that law enforcement agencies are conducting relevant work by the instruction of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic.

“Based on the results of the audit, a thorough analysis will be conducted and relevant decisions will be made. The society and the leadership of the country will be informed about the results, the issue is under my personal control,” the minister concluded.
