Moscow, Feb. 27, 2020 / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov met today in Moscow met with President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
The two leaders discussed current trends and prospects for the development of Kyrgyz-Russian bilateral relations.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, welcoming his Kyrgyz counterpart noted with satisfaction that today the heads of the two states will solemnly open the Cross Year of Kyrgyzstan and Russia in Moscow, an agreement on which was reached in 2019.
He expressed confidence that more than 200 planned events within the framework of the Cross Year will benefit bilateral relations, which are progressively developing in almost all areas.
Putin emphasized that Russia remains the key trade and economic partner of Kyrgyzstan in terms of trade volumes, investments and noted with satisfaction regular meetings between the countries at the highest level.
President Sooronbay Jeenbekov emphasized that over the past two years, bilateral cooperation between the countries has intensified significantly.
He noted with satisfaction the improvement of trade and economic cooperation and direct interregional ties between countries. Expressing gratitude to Vladimir Putin for personal support on almost all issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation, he noted that Kyrgyzstan highly values the historically friendly relations that have been tested for centuries.
President Jeenbekov also emphasized that activities in the political, economic, cultural, humanitarian and other areas of cooperation were outlined in the framework of the Cross Year.
He noted that much attention will be paid to joint large-scale events in the framework of the celebration of the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
The sides emphasized their readiness to further increase joint cooperation between countries and deepen cooperation within the framework of integration associations.
