Dushanbe, Feb.1, 2018 / Kabar /. Presidents of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov and Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon made a joint statement following the results of bilateral meetings within the framework of Jeenbekov's official visit to Dushanbe.
The President of Tajikistan stressed that the meetings were held on the basis of constructiveness and mutual understanding. He also emphasized that the visit of his colleague from Kyrgyzstan is taking place in the jubilee year of establishing diplomatic relations between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, which is also a significant fact.
"Over this period, Kyrgyz-Tajik relations have acquired a constructive dynamics of development in all areas of cooperation. A serious to-do list has been collected to further strengthen the mutually beneficial partnership between the two countries in political, commercial, industrial, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as on security issues and other areas of mutual interest," Rahmon said.
The Tajik President stressed that the results of the talks once again confirmed the interest of both sides in variously strengthening the existing cooperation.
The President of Kyrgyzstan thanked his colleague for the invitation to visit his country with official visit and supported his assessment of the constructive negotiations that were conducted.
"Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan have strong friendship. We discussed the entire range of issues of long-term cooperation and touched upon key issues of international agenda also. We discussed in detail the matters of trade and economic relations, regional security and cooperation, as well as water and energy communications," Jeenbekov said.
The Head of Kyrgyz State stressed that this year is particularly significant for two countries and its people. "Together we celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries. Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan are bound by traditional friendship, good-neighborliness, common history and spiritual values, which are a solid foundation for Kyrgyz-Tajik relations," Jeenbekov said.
The Kyrgyz President speficied that this year at the state level and in the whole world, events dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the great Kyrgyz writer Chyngyz Aitmatov will be held in Kyrgyzstan.
"I am sure that Tajikistan, where Chyngyz Aitmatov is read and loved, will actively participate in these events. I would like to mention with pleasure that on the eve of my visit here, the last novel by Chyngyz Aitmatov When the mountains are falling was published in Tajik language," Jeenbekov stressed.
In addition, the Head of Kyrgyzstan said that both sides agreed to continue working in future on the discussion of issues on delimitation and demarcation of the state border.
Jeenbekov invited Rahmon to visit Kyrgyzstan with a return official visit at any time convenient for him, to which the Tajik president gave a positive response.
