Qindao, June 9, 2018 / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov departed from Beijing, where his first state visit was held and arrived in Qingdao to participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit.
At Qingdao International Airport, the Kyrgyz President was med by deputy foreign minister of China, deputy governor of Shandong Province and vice mayor of the city.
Jeenbekov plans to meet with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon tol discuss topical issues of cooperation.
The SCO Summit will be held tomorrow, June 10, in a narrow and enlarged formats. As previously reported, the topic of discussion will be promising areas for further improvement of the organization's activities, regional security issues, expansion of economic and investment cooperation, intensification of transport and communication, and other aspects of multilateral cooperation.
Following the results of the talks, it is planned to adopt the Qingdao Declaration, sign the Program of Cooperation against Terrorism, Separatism and Extremism for 2019-2021, the Action Plan for 2018-2022 to implement the provisions of the Treaty on Long-Term Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation.
At the summit, the Chinese side will complete its chairmanship in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (2017-2018) and will move it to Kyrgyzstan for the period 2018-2019.
After lunch, the president of Kyrgyzstan will hold bilateral meetings with President of Mongolia Hultmaaghin Battulga and Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi.
It should be noted that this year the summit will be held for the first time in an expanded format with the participation of India and Pakistan, which have become full members of the organization since June 9, 2017.
