Jeenbekov arrives in St. Petersburg to meet with colleagues in EAEU

St. Petersburg, Dec. 6, 2018. / Kabar /. Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov arrived in St. Petersburg to participate in a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council.

At the Pulkovo-2 international airport, the Kyrgyz President was met by Vice Governor - Head of the Administration of the Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Govorunov, Chairman of the Committee for External Relations of the Administration of St. Petersburg Yevgeny Grigoriev and Director of the State Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Igor Bogdashev.

From the Kyrgyz side, Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Russian Federation Bolot Otunbayev and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Azizbek Madmarov were waiting at the ramp.

Reportedly, the meeting of the Heads of State of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) members will be chaired by President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. The leaders will discuss the current issues of the organization and summarize the work for 2018.

In addition, the meeting will identify areas for further deepening Eurasian integration in areas such as mutual trade, energy, the digital economy.

The agenda will also include issues of the Union’s international work, including competition in cross-border markets.

On Dec. 7, President Jeenbekov will make a working trip to Moscow, where he take part in the opening ceremony of the monument to great Kyrgyz writer Chyngyz Aitmatov, the President’s press service reported.
