Jeenbekov congratulates Kyrgyz parliamentarians on 80th anniversary of Jogorku Kenesh

Bishkek, Dec. 21, 2018. /Kabar/. Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov delivered a congratulatory speech today at a solemn event on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Jogorku Kenesh (Kyrgyz Parliament).

Addressing the heroes of the occasion, he sincerely congratulated them on the anniversary of the legislative body of Kyrgyzstan and highlighted its significance.

“The Supreme Soviet of the Kyrgyz SSR began its work in 1938 and for 80 years has passed a glorious path. Since then, he has been the representative of the people, the face of the people and the voice of the people,” the head of state began his speech.

He noted that in all the convocations of the Supreme Soviet, later the Jogorku Kenesh, deputies became worthy sons and daughters of the Kyrgyz people, who played a historic role in the development of the country.

“There were worthy chairmen who contributed to the development of the Kyrgyz Parliament and received the respect of the people. We remember with pride and respect the names of Imanaly Aidarbekov, Abdykadyr Orozbekov, Torobay Kulatov, Asanaly Tolubayev, Moldogazy Tokobayev, Sultan Ibraimov, Arstanbek Duisheev, Temirbek Koshoyev, Absamat Masaliev. We wish long life twice to Hero of Socialist Labor, Hero of the Kyrgyz Republic, respected Tashtanbek Akmatov,” the President said.

In addition, Jeenbekov expressed his sincere thanks to the deputies of the "legendary parliament" and its Speaker Medetkan Sherimkulov, that adopted the declaration on the independence of the state, the first Constitution of the state and approved the symbols of the state.

The solemn event dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Jogorku Kenesh is held at Ala-Archa state residence in Bishkek.

Kyrgyzstan’s President Soorobay Jeenbekov and former head of state Roza Otunbayeva, Prime Minister Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziyev, Chairman of the Supreme Court Gulbara Kaliyeva, diplomats and representatives of international organizations, as well as members of the legislative body of the country are the guests of the event.
