Kyrgyz President congratulates his nation on Manas Day

Bishkek, Dec. 4, 2018. / Kabar /. Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov congratulated Kyrgyz citizens on Manas Day.

The President’s press ser ice reported that in his congratulation Jeenbekov said that Manas epic is the pride of the Kyrgyz people, an incomparable monument of oral folk art, a masterpiece of world folk poetry, the golden treasure trove of folk thought.

He said that the epic reflects the history, culture, traditions and worldview of the Kyrgyz people. Proclaims the idea of ​​peace, unity and development, creation and justice.

“This epic, which has no analogue in the world, is the spiritual, historical and cultural heritage of not only the Kyrgyz people, but of all mankind.

Our people, have preserved the great spirit of Manas as an apple of the eye, and are passing it from generation to generation. A great role in this was played by Manas narrators. The talent of selected envoys of the Most High, their narrating skills served as a bridge between history and present life,” says in the congratulation.

President Jeenbekov also in his congratulation stressed the importance of sources in the current turbulent times, when various risks are acute on the agenda.

“Now our independent state is striving to realize beautiful goals, and Manas will serve us as an inexhaustible source.

May the spirit of Manas the Magnanimous live forever as a symbol of the unity and solidarity of the multinational people of Kyrgyzstan,” he said.

The Manas Day has been celebrating in Kyrgyzstan since 2015.

The purpose of establishment of this holiday waa the preservation and popularization of the Kyrgyz epic “Manas”, the development of Manas studies in the republic.

Manas epic is the largest epic and the name of its main character - the hero who united Kyrgyz people. Manas epic is included in the UNESCO list of masterpieces of the intangible cultural heritage of mankind, as well as in the Guinness Book of Records as the most voluminous epic in the world.
