Jeenbekov congratulates Tokayev on victory Kazakhstan presidential election

Bishkek, June 10, 2019. /Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov had a telephone conversation with President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the President’s press service reported.

During the conversation Jeenbekov warmly congratulated Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on his victory in the snap presidential elections in Kazakhstan and noted that it was an important and responsible choice for the brotherly people of Kazakhstan.

The Kyrgyz leader expressed confidence that the activities of the newly elected Kazakhstan President will contribute to country’s further sustainable and comprehensive development.

Jeenbekov invited Kazakh President to visit Kyrgyzstan for an official visit in order to expand Kyrgyz-Kazakh cooperation.

The leaders also discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation and agreed to meet in the framework of participation in the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit in Bishkek.

The snap presidential elections were held in Kazakhstan on Sunday, June 9. Current President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, nominated by the Nur Otan party headed by leader of nation Nursultan Nazarbayev, has taken more than 70% of votes.

In total seven politicians took part in the elections.
