Bishkek, May 5, 2020. /Kabar/. President Sooronbay Jeenbekov received Tuesday Deputy Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Erkin Asrandiyev, his press service reported.
Finance Minister of the republic Baktygul Jeenbayeva also attended the meeting.
The current macroeconomic situation and measures to stabilize the socio-economic situation in the country against the background of the fight against the spread of coronavirus infection and its negative consequences were discussed.
It was noted that according to preliminary data for January-April 2020, the revenue part of the national budget was executed by 77.2%, which is more than KGS 9.7 billion less than planned.
Asrandiyev said the Government has developed two scenarios regarding the risks of underfunding of budget's revenue part. The possible risks of the budget revenues shortfall by the end of the year were assessed, according to which adjustments will be made to the expenditure part of the budget.
He recalled that the resumption of economic activity under the emergency and state of emergency regime is carried out in three stages. Number of enterprises and organizations resumed their activity on May 1 2020.
According to Finance Minister Jeenbayeva, the reduction of the republican budget expenditures will not affect the protected articles and social payments. She also informed that as of today the total amount of financial aid, received from international development partners has made USD 174.5 million.
President Jeenbekov noted that, in the current situation, priority should be given to financing measures to combat coronavirus infection and expenses to ensure measures in conditions of emergency and state of emergency.
He noted the importance of strengthening the work to attract additional funds for budget support, to conduct a detailed assessment of the economic damage associated with the pandemic, the need for further analysis in order to reduce non-priority spending of the republican budget.
The Kyrgyz leader emphasized that the representatives of business whose activity was resumed in the current situation should receive maximum support from the state structures.
Jeenbekov also drew attention to the intensification of work with international financial institutions and donor countries on restructuring and prolongation of foreign debt.
At the same time, the President said that despite economic losses, the state's social obligations must be fulfilled in full.
