Jeenbekov familiarizes with condition of medical facilities in Issyk-Kul Oblast

Bishkek, Aug. 3, 2020 /Kabar/. Today, August 3, President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov familiarized with condition of medical facilities in Issyk-Kul Oblast in the context of fight against spread of coronavirus infection, his press service reported.

The Kyrgyz leader inspected the building of Issyk-Kul Oblast United Hospital, located in Karakol town, and talked with the hospital staff.

To date, 245 beds have been organized here to treat patients with coronavirus infection and community-acquired pneumonia.

Besides, the hospital has two buildings in need of major reconstruction. About KGS 20 million were needed for this purpose.

Work has already begun in this direction. The building of this hospital is on the list of those facilities that will be renovated and re-profiled to current requirements before the autumn-winter period.

Jeenbekov inquired about the availability of medicines. Doctors said drugs had been delivered with interruptions in the past, but at the moment the supplies have improved.

In his conversation with the medical personnel, the President once again thanked them for their selfless work in such a difficult time for the country.

He also noted that in all regions, including the Issyk-Kul Oblast, the construction of integrated hospitals will be launched, which will significantly improve the quality of medical services for the population. Investors are being attracted for the construction of such hospitals under public-private partnership.

Sooronbay Jeenbekov also got acquainted with the work of daytime inpatient centers in Karakol town (50 beds) and in Teploklyuchenka village of Ak-Suu region (28 beds).

The daytime inpatient centersl in Teploklyuchenka was opened in July. To date, over a thousand people have received necessary medical care here.

President Jeenbekov once again noted that the opening of such facilities is a great help in providing timely medical care to residents of the regions.

In Ak-Suu region, the Kyrgyz leader also visited the Family Medicine Center. The new building was put into operation in July this year. The Center serves more than 60 thousand residents from the whole region.

Familiarizing with the activities of the Center, President Jeenbekov noted the importance of the introduction of digitalization, and called on the management and medical personnel of the Center to accelerate the process.
