Moscow, Feb. 27, 2020 / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov met in Moscow with Russian President Vladimir Putin in a narrow composition.
Jeenbekov, thanking for the hospitable welcome and warmth on Russian soil, noted that he was very pleased with this meeting and the opportunity to discuss some issues of bilateral cooperation.
“I want to emphasize that in recent years, Kyrgyz-Russian cooperation has intensified. Your state visit to Kyrgyzstan was very successful and many documents were signed. And this gave an impetus to the active actions of our authorities at all levels. 2020 has been called the Cross Year of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Russian Federation and the Russian Federation in the Kyrgyz Republic, and we expect great changes this year. And for our part, we will do our best to ensure that the entire action plan is implemented,” Jeenbekov said.
He said that last year, the 8th Russian-Kyrgyz interregional forum “New Horizons of Strategic Partnership and Integration” was held in Bishkek with the participation of Vladimir Putin, at which agreements for more than USD 1 billion were signed. This year, Kyrgyzstan expects great results from the 9th Russian-Kyrgyz interregional forum.
“We are also preparing for the 75th anniversary of Victory Day, for which large-scale events are planned,” Jeenbekov said.
President Jeenbekov thanked Putin for his personal support in strengthening Kyrgyz-Russian cooperation. “We, Kyrgyzstanis, highly value and value our historical relations, time-tested,” the head of Kyrgyzstan said.
