Bishkek, May 26, 2020 / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov, as part of his working trip to Chui region, got acquainted with the activities of a pharmaceutical company in the context of the spread of coronavirus infection in the country, the press service of the Kyrgyz President said.
The head of state visited the Biovit pharmaceutical plant in Sokuluk, which, among other drugs and biologically active food additives, also produces immunity enhancers that are important in the fight against coronavirus infection.
The head of the enterprise also briefed that in recent years a new modern plant for the production of pharmaceuticals has been built that fully complies with national licensing requirements and international standards.
In addition to the production halls, there is also a modern laboratory for the quality control of drugs accredited in accordance with international standards, which uses Japanese, German and American equipment.
The factory employs 104 employees. In addition to the domestic market, products are exported to the CIS countries, Europe and the USA. Also, at the moment, the construction of a new workshop is being completed, in the coming days mass production of medical masks, napkins and shoe covers will be launched.
The annual production capacity of the enterprise is 500 million tablets, 100 million capsules, 50 million powders and granules, 5 million syrups and suspensions. In the near future, the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund will allocate financing to the plant to expand production capacity.
The head of the enterprise also said that one of the drugs produced at the plant is used in the treatment against coronavirus infection.
Having examined the enterprise, Jeenbekov noted with satisfaction that, using the example of the plant’s activities, it can be said with confidence that the domestic pharmaceutical industry has good potential. He called on local authorities and financial institutions of the country to provide maximum assistance to this enterprise in implementing plans to expand production, cover the domestic market and geography of product exports.
The head of state emphasized that with the implementation of these plans, the enterprise will have the opportunity to compete worthily in the foreign drug markets and promote the domestic pharmaceutical brand.
The President expressed gratitude to the management and the staff of the plant for their dedication to their work, noting that this approach to work will bring great results. He emphasized that state policy is aimed at supporting similar enterprises that are focused on the production of import-substituting products, foreign markets and job creation.
