Jeenbekov makes visit to first machine-building plant in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, June 10, 2020. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan’s President Sooronbay Jeenbekov visited on Wednesday the Kyrgyz Unaa Kurulush automobile plant in Osh, which will provide jobs for up to 5,000 people and produce electric buses.

Today, the first stage of construction work has been completed, and the plant has begun its operations, the press service of the Kyrgyz President reported.

With the launch of this enterprise up to 500 jobs were created, and after the second stage of construction works, when the plant will be fully operational, the number of jobs will reach 5 thousand.

Devices, equipment and components for light and heavy industry, agriculture are produced at this plant, transformers and smart meters are developed and tested.

A prototype of the first electric bus produced in Kyrgyzstan is also being prepared.

At the first stage of construction works of the plant which is equipped with modern equipment from Europe and Japan about USD 20 million was invested.

In a conversation with workers, President Jeenbekov expressed satisfaction with the scale of the plant's activity, stressing that it is the first plant of its kind in the country.

The Kyrgyz leader shared his memories of his visit to the Toshiba Company's plant in 2001 as part of the training program in Japan, and spoke about the principles of labor activity and corporate ethics of the Japanese corporation.

He called for corporate unity, stressing that the success of an enterprise's activity largely depends on the efforts of each employee and the labor collective as a whole.

Sooronbay Jeenbekov added the state policy of regional development pays special attention to supporting local initiatives of entrepreneurs. Most of the funds of the country's financial institutions are mainly allocated to support entrepreneurship in the regions.

President Jeenbekov is in Osh Oblast for his two-day working trip. Today, June 10 he honored the memory of those who died during the June 2010 tragic events and laid flowers at the Tears of Mothers memorial complex.
