Jeenbekov meets with First Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Yagub Eyubov

Bishkek, Oct. 7, 2019. / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov met with First Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Yagub Eyyubov, who arrived in the country to attend a meeting of the joint intergovernmental commission on economic and humanitarian cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan.

An exchange of views took place on the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral relations between the countries, the Kyrgyz President’s press service said.

The head of state noted that Kyrgyzstan attaches great importance to the further development of friendly relations with Azerbaijan on the basis of mutual trust and respect.

He emphasized that one of the key points in the further development of bilateral relations is the diversification of economic cooperation, which has significant unrealized potential.

Jeenbekov noted the importance of the transition to the development and practical implementation of joint projects in the field of energy, transport, mining, education, medicine and the promotion of tourism potential.

Eyubov noted that President Ilham Aliyev is waiting for Sooronbay Jeenbekov in Baku to participate in the next Summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (CCTS).

He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to hold the Third meeting of the joint intergovernmental commission on economic and humanitarian cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan in Bishkek, recalling that the last meeting was held five years ago in Baku.

Yagub Eyyubov emphasized that the work of the intergovernmental commission was resumed due to the special attitude of President Sooronbay Jeenbekov to cooperation with Azerbaijan.
