Jeenbekov meets with President of JICA Shinichi Kitaoka

Bishkek, June 29, 2018. / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov met today with President of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Shinichi Kitaoka.

President Jeenbekov congratulated on the 25th anniversary of the establishment of cooperation of the Kyrgyz Republic with JICA and wished that cooperation with the Agency would reach an even higher level.

The sides noted with satisfaction the existing trusting relations and mutually beneficial partnership between the Kyrgyz Republic and Japan.

Jeenbekov noted that friendly relations in all spheres of cooperation have been established between Kyrgyzstan and Japan since the establishment of diplomatic relations.

"Since gaining the independence Japan supports Kyrgyzstan and made a huge contribution to the stable development of our economy. We highly appreciate the activities of the Japan International Cooperation Agency," the head of state said.

Shinichi Kitaoka noted that in the course of his work he had visited many countries of the world and Kyrgyzstan is the 100th country which he visited.

"This moment is very important for me and I am glad that Kyrgyzstan became the 100th country of my visit. I noticed how similar the Kyrgyz and the Japanese are, I was very surprised and excited. We will make every effort to achieve all of your projects in Kyrgyzstan. We pay special attention to partner relations with countries and I want to note that Kyrgyzstan, as a partner, played a great role in developing stable relations and implementing projects," Kitaoka said.

Within the framework of Kitaoki's visit, the exchange notes and the grant agreement of the "Scholarship Program for Human Resource Development" project between the Permanent Representative of JICA in Kyrgyzstan Kazuhiko Kikuchi and Minister of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic Adylbek Kasymaliev will be signed.
