Bishkek, Sept. 27, 2018 / Kabar /. President Sooronbay Jeenbekov met with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon in Dushanbe.
Jeenbekov thanked Rahmon for the warm welcome and hospitality, noting that he was glad to meet him again in the margins of the meeting of the CIS State Council and the opportunity to discuss topical issues of bilateral cooperation.
"The Kyrgyz side attaches special importance to the comprehensive development of Kyrgyz-Tajik relations. We are determined to increase the potential of bilateral cooperation in all areas of mutual interest and strengthen the bonds of friendship between our peoples," he said.
Jeenbekov and Rahmon outlined a common willingness to continue cooperation in all areas, with joint efforts.
The two leaders stressed the need to intensify the work of the intergovernmental commission on the delimitation and demarcation of the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, including cooperation on cross-border issues.
Jeenbekov congratulated the people of Tajikistan and President Rahmon on the 27th anniversary of Tajikistan's Independence.
President Jeenbekov arrived in Dushanbe today to attend a meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the CIS, which will be held tomorrow, Sept. 28.
