Jeenbekov meets with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin

Bishkek, Feb. 27, 2020 / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov, as part of his working visit to Moscow, met with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

An exchange of views took place on topical areas of bilateral cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Russia, the Kyrgyz President’s press service reported.

Mishustin, welcoming the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, stressed his readiness to continue the most effective interaction with the Kyrgyz government.

Noting that during the working visit of Sooronbay Jeenbekov, bilateral negotiations are expected with Russian President Vladimir Putin and joint participation in the opening ceremony of the Cross Year of Kyrgyzstan and Russia, he added that the Russian side also expects Jeenbekov to participate in the celebration of the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War on May 9 in Moscow.

Mikhail Mishustin conveyed greetings to Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev. He emphasized that bilateral relations between the countries are allied and strategic in nature, and trade, economic and investment cooperation are developing dynamically.

He expressed confidence that the Cross Year of Kyrgyzstan and Russia will give a new impetus to bilateral cooperation.

The Kyrgyz President congratulated Mikhail Mishustin on his appointment as Prime Minister of the Russian Federation.

He noted with satisfaction the intensification of Kyrgyz-Russian relations over the past two years.

Sooronbay Jeenbekov recalled that a number of documents worth more than USD 6 billion were signed at the 8th Interregional Conference held during last year’s state visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Kyrgyzstan.

He expressed confidence that the 9th Interregional Forum, which is expected in Ekaterinburg this year, will also be fruitful and successful.

Sooronbay Jeenbekov emphasized that the Kyrgyz side attaches great importance to the successful implementation of all activities within the framework of the Cross Year.

He noted that the successful implementation of common plans and the implementation of this unique project will serve to further strengthen allied relations and strategic partnership.

The head of Kyrgyzstan emphasized that mutually beneficial strengthening and expansion of trade and economic cooperation between the countries fully meets the strategic interests of Kyrgyzstan.
