Bishkek, Jan. 9, 2019. /Kabar/. “My promises to increase the salaries of teachers and doctors will be consistently accomplished. Salaries of doctors have been raised, now it's the turn of teachers,” Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov told Wednesday at a meeting with residents of Sokuluk region, Chuy oblast.

Jeenbekov noted that from the first days after taking the office of the country leader, he began to work on the fulfillment of his election promises, the press service of the Kyrgyz President’s Office reported.

“My main promises are development of the regions, provision of clean drinking water to the population, improvement of the irrigation system of the country, and relentless fight against corruption. I promised the people about one more important matter. This is a salary increase for teachers and doctors in the country,” the President said.

He noted that in order to raise wages, it is necessary to improve the economic situation of the country, stop the theft of the state budget, increase profits.

“In 2018, we worked in this direction and created the necessary basis for improving the living conditions of the population. From October 1, 2018, the salary of medical workers has increased. At this stage, salaries of family doctors and nurses, medical practitioners and paramedic-obstetric centers have been raised. At the next stage, wages of employees of stationary medical institutions will be raised. The government together with the Ministry of Health is already working in this direction,” the President said.
