Bishkek, Mar. 27, 2019. /Kabar/. The Kyrgyz Republic has identified improvement of the quality of the education system, as well as development of high technologies as a key priority for a long-term period of development, President Sooronbay Jeenbekov told during the I Forum of Rectors of Kyrgyzstan and Russia on Wednesday.

In his speech, the head of state indicated that dynamic changes are taking place in the world today – new knowledge is emerging and technologies are changing.

“Time dictates new demands. Intellectualization of all forms of activity in any contemporary country has become a general trend. Our countries are no exception. Education is one of the main, key resources that determine the future of our countries. Global competition can be withstood only by educated societies. Today, our countries are carrying out reforms in the education and science systems. We, just as the entire world community, are in search of the best approaches for the further development of educational processes,” Jeenbekov said.

He stressed that the Kyrgyz society has always aspired to new knowledge, healthy lifestyle, spiritual values, and the Kyrgyz education system has the task of reforming universities so that they are not only a place of transfer of accumulated knowledge, but also a place where a student acquires new knowledge anytime, anywhere and throughout life.
