Jeenbekov proposes to develop football development program and build stadium in Bishkek

Bishkek, Jan. 24, 2019. /Kabar/. Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov suggested the Government, together with the Football Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic, to develop a Football Development Program and, in the framework of the Program, to build a new modern football stadium of international level in Bishkek. He said this at the ceremony of presenting state awards to players and coaches of the national football team on Thursday, the press service of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

“The fact that you reached the 1/8 finals of the Asian Cup is already a historical event. Kyrgyzstan ranked 195th in the FIFA ranking in 2012. This year we already hold the 91st place. Behind this success, behind your bright victories is a lot of work, endless training,” the head of state said.

Jeenbekov expressed confidence that participation in the Asian Cup will become a good tradition for the national team and give the team more opportunities to develop their skills and host international meetings.
