Bishkek, Feb. 21, 2019. / Kabar /. “The upcoming visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin will raise the Kyrgyz-Russian alliance and strategic partnership to an even higher level,” Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov said on Wednesday at the opening of a new border complex in the village of Otukchu, Kadamzhai district, Batken oblast.
The Kyrgyz President’s press service reported that addressing the representatives of the Russian Federation attending the opening ceremony, Jeenbekov expressed gratitude, noting that Kyrgyzstan highly appreciates Russia's assistance not only in strengthening border security and military-technical cooperation, but also in educational issues, medicine and migration field.
“I would like to especially note the personal contribution of Russian President Vladimir Putin to the development of our bilateral relations and to ensuring the regional security As you know, we are waiting for Vladimir Vladimirovich for a state visit to the Kyrgyz Republic. The construction of the Otukchu frontier complex was completed under the strategic agreement between Kyrgyzstan and Russia. Within the framework of this Agreement, the Russian side donated 125 units of new motor vehicles to the State Border Service.
Besides, 11 buildings and structures were built and commissioned for border divisions, most of which were commissioned in 2018 and in January 2019.
